Pilots light it up in second period, take 2-0 series lead over Outlaws
The Abbotsford Pilots rode a dominant second period to a 6-3 comeback win over the Mission City Outlaws on Thursday.
The host Outlaws raced out to a 2-0 lead in the opening frame, with both goals coming off the stick of Christopher Allen.
But the Pilots flipped the momentum in the second – they outshot Mission 20-2 in the period, and potted four goals courtesy Colton Cowden, Adam Rossi, Brett Kolins and Michael Tebbutt.
Eric Wieking and Joel Atkinson made it 6-2 in the third period, and Mission's Nolan Dyck rounded out the scoring in the late going.
The Pilots, who took Game 1 5-1 on Tuesday, now own a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series going into Game 3 on Friday (7:30 p.m., MSA Arena).
