Kripps places 18th in Russia
Summerland’s Justin Kripps completed his rookie season in Sochi, Russia on the elite circuit with Edmonton’s Neville Wright controlling the brakes during the World Cup bobsleigh championship. The Canadian duo finished 18th at 1:55.27. Canada’s Lyndon Rush and Jesse Lumsden captured the overall World Cup two-man bobsleigh title despite finishing tied for fourth place on Saturday.
Men's rec hockey
In Penticton men’s rec hockey action the Bar One Argo Bisons trounced the Cawston Cold Storage Best Damn Wings 9-3. Kiel Gatenby scored three to lead the Bisons, while Jesse Van Troyen scored two, with singles from Sam Gill, Ryan Hawes, Jeff Smith and Matt Fraser. Nick Babyn scored twice for the Wings. Stuart Nisbet scored three to help lead the Mule Broncos past the Game Time Sports Wolverines 7-1. Also scoring for the Broncos was Andrew Pond, Eric Cerutti, Jamie Johnson and Taylor Cote. Aric Stickney was the lone goal scorer for the Wolverines.
