UFV men's hoopsters up to No. 9 in national poll

After a one-week absence, the University of the Fraser Valley men's basketball team has vaulted back into the national rankings.

The Cascades moved up to No. 9 in the latest edition of the CIS poll released Tuesday, in the wake of a pair of decisive weekend wins over the UNBC Timberwolves to improve to 9-7. The UFV men were absent from the top 10 last week for the first time all season, after suffering road losses at Calgary and Lethbridge.

The Cascades women's hoopsters stayed steady at No. 4 in the nation after thumping UNBC twice on the weekend to improve to 13-3.

The UFV basketball teams are on the road for a Friday-Saturday set against the UBC-Okanagan Heat.
