Horak heading back to Heat
Roman Horak was reassigned to the Abbotsford Heat by the Calgary Flames on Wednesday.
The versatile 21-year-old forward from the Czech Republic had stuck with the Flames out of training camp for the second straight year, and posted one assist while suiting up for Calgary's first two games of the regular season.
But with two key forwards, Roman Cervenka and Jiri Hudler, set to rejoin the club this week after absences due to medical concerns and bereavement, respectively, Horak was caught in a numbers crunch.
During the NHL lockout, Horak began the season with the Heat and got off to a red-hot start, scoring 10 goals in his first nine games. He mustered just four in his next 26 games, though. He's totaled 14 goals and five assists for 19 points through 35 AHL games in 2012-13.
