Lotz of shots and a Blazer win
The Kamloops Blazers outshot the Everett Silvertips 69-21 en route to 4-3 overtime win at Interior Savings Centre on Wednesday, Jan. 23.
Austin Lotz, who made a whopping 65 saves, could not stop Cole Ully on a penalty shot in the extra frame.
Everett jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from Reid Petryk and Mirco Mueller.
Kamloops stormed back with three second-period markers — Ully, Tim Bozon and JC Lipon doing the damage.
Ryan Harrison scored short-handed to tie the game at 5:40 of the third period.
Lotz was great in defeat, while Cole Cheveldave was at times shaky in victory.
Next up for the Blazers are the Prince Albert Raiders on Friday, Jan. 25, at ISC.
A ceremony in which former Blazer Scott Niedermayer's No. 28 will be retired gets underway at 7 p.m, with puck-drop to follow.
