5K clinic off and running
The weather cooperated for the first day of the Comox Valley Road Runners' 27th annual 5K Running Clinic.
On Saturday, Jan. 19, 123 eager participants streamed in to the lower Native Sons Hall. The majority of registrants are brand new to both the clinic and to running. Eight different pace groups from walkers to would-be racers were established and will be led throughout the 10 weeks of the clinic by 30 experienced volunteers.
“There was electricity in the air this morning!” exclaimed Frank Graham, a longtime CVRR runner and volunteer. There is still time to register. Come out this Saturday, Jan. 26, 8:45 a.m. to the Lower Native Sons Hall, $50 per person.
