KMHA round-up, Jan. 11 to Jan. 13
Titans twice beaten
The Titans dropped a pair of atom recreation games on the weekend, losing 8-4 to the Assassins on Saturday and 13-11 to the Thunder on Sunday.
Scoring for the Titans on Saturday were Nathan Underhill (2G), Ethan Bottle (1G, 1A) and Jameson Rende (1G), with Caleb Campbell providing the goaltending.
Recording points for the Assassins were Tristen Coetzer (3G, 1A), Jakob Bennett (2G), Tristen Collins (1G, 1A), Zach Gilbert (1G) and Conlin Erichuck 1G), with Spencer Ducharme backstopping the winning team.
On Sunday, it was Rende (4G, 1A), Underhill (3G), Brooke Cave (2G), Campbell (1G, 1A) and Max Card (1G) scoring for the Titans, with Isaac Bean between the pipes.
Putting up points for the Thunder were Nolan Austin (4G, 2A), Zac Banks (3G, 2A), Adam Gordan (3G, 2A), Raymond Shockey (2G, 1A) and Jacob Sherlock (1G). Kiel Schriml patrolled the Thunder's crease.
Preds out in semis
The Kamloops Players Bench Predators were ousted in the semifinal round of a bantam tier 2 tournament, which wrapped up at McArthur Island Sports Centre on Sunday.
Williams Lake knocked off Kamloops 5-1 in a semifinal tilt, after the Predators posted two wins, a tie and a loss in round-robin play.
Scoring on the weekend for the Predators were Max Patterson (2G, 8A), Tony Dennis (3G,5A), Stefan Nesci (6G,3A), Mac Alberts (2G, 1A), Rylan Van Unen (3G, 4A), Brysen Watson (1A), Matthew Facchinelli (1G, 2A), Ryan Ignace (3G, 5A), Bennett Hunter (2G,2A), Rylan Douglas (3A), Shae Bruyere (3A), Bryce McDonald (2A), Jaxon Reid (1A) and Michael Van Unen (1A).
Matthew Hicketts and Reid Gladman split time between the pipes for Kamloops.
Vibe find success on Mainland
The Kamloops Vibe returned to South Coast Female Amateur Hockey League action on the weekend with a road trip to the Lower Mainland, where they earned five of a possible six points.
Kamloops knocked off Simon Fraser University twice, 4-2 and 2-1, and tied the B.C. Thunder 3-3.
Recording points on the weekend for the Vibe were Rochelle Smith (2G, 2A), Emily Edmundson (2G, 1A), Kayla Keeping (3A), Bianca Mirabelli (1G, 1A), Shelby Easton (1G, 1A), Gaylene Smith (1G, 1A), Alyssa Reid (1G, 1A), Jenna Ormondy (1G) and Sarah Kurzac (1A).
Alissa Hibbert backstopped Kamloops all weekend.
Blazers on top
The peewee tier 1 Kamloops Jardine's Blazers posted two wins and clinched the regular-season championship on the weekend.
Kamloops knocked off second place Kelowna twice — 7-2 on Saturday, Jan. 12, and 7-3 on Sunday, Jan. 13.
The Blazers finished the regular season with a record of 14 wins and one loss.
No blood
The Rampage and Steelheads tied 4-4 in peewee recreation play at Interior Savings Centre on Sunday.
Scoring for the Rampage were CJ Ferguson (1G), Deegan Ludwig-Konrad (1G), Luigi Comita (2G), Ryan Anderson (2A) and Tristan Beauchamp (1A).
Birch Mierau backstopped the Rampage.
Replying with points for the Steelheads were Ethan Smith (1G, 1A), Ethan Crawford (1G), Joshua Jensen (1G), Taylor Russell (1G), Andrew Warner (1A) and Jarrett Mirtle (1A) .
Summit Love-Krause was between the pipes for the Steelheads.
Viking prey
The Kamloops Predators knocked off the Kamloops Vikings 5-2 in peewee recreation play at McArthur Island Sports and Events Centre on Sunday.
Recording points for the winners were Jacob Stewart (2G), Sage Pavlovich (1G), Callum Gorman (1G), Rhys Blundell (1G, 1A), Peter Buff (1A), Jacob Stewart (1A) and Nolan Mongey (1A).
Josh Harrison was in net for the Predators.
Jamie Daniels (1G), Connor Humphrey (1G), Kyllan Thibault (1A) and Gavin Cox (1A) tallied points for the Vikings, who went with Xavier Cannon between the pipes.
Road Raiders
The peewee tier 2 Kamloops Raiders incurred a pair of losses in Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association play on the weekend.
Kamloops fell 3-1 to hometown Penticton on Saturday and 8-4 to hometown Westside on Sunday.
Recording points on the weekend for Kamloops were Justin MacInnes (2G, 2A), Breckin Erichuk (1A), Elias Wallace (1G), Lane Grunerud (1G) and Luke Recchi (1A).
Jarrett Larsen and Ethan Langenegger shared goaltending duties on Saturday and Langenegger played the full game on Sunday.
Win one, lose one
The Kamloops Herricanes and Williams Lake Da Bomb split a pair of atom female games on the weekend.
Kamloops downed Williams Lake 5-1 and Williams Lake bounced back with a 9-5 win.
Getting on the scoresheet for Kamloops on the weekend were Natalie Knight (3G), Cassidy Stasiuk (2G, 2A), Nola Clarke (1G), Nicole Thomas (3G), Katie Brayer (1A), Carsen Moffett (1G) and Natalie Knight (1A).
Rebekah Schmutz backstopped the Herricanes.
Bronze Boltz
The Kamloops Boltz earned third place at a bantam recreation tournament in Williams Lake on the weekend.
Kamloops knocked off the Williams Lake Big Chiefs 2-0 in the bronze-medal game.
Ty Robinson and Brayden Patterson scored for the Boltz. Goaltenders Taylor Booth and Ethan Herndier split the shutout.
Kings miss podium
The Kamloops Ice Kings placed fourth at an atom tournament in Sicamous on the weekend.
The Ice Kings played two other Kamloops teams at the tourney, downing the Legends 8-2 before losing 3-2 to the Roughnecks.
Recording points for Kamloops on the weekend were Matthew Coxon (6G, 1A) Dexter Williams (11G, 4A), Mitchell Coxon (1A), Ethan Schanzenbach (1G, 1A), Evan Humphrey (1G), Ryan Hurst (1G, 1A), Andrew Gemsa (1G) and Zachary Teale (1G, 1A).
Hayden Buttazoni backstopped the Ice Kings.
Tyler Fernie and Michael Degassio scored for the Legends, with Bryce Bertuzzi adding an assist. Wesley Nielsen was in net for the Legends.
Kyle Proulx, Maxwell Hinkson and Aidan McPhee scored for the Roughnecks, with Domenico Comita and Hinkson adding assists.
The Roughnecks won the B final.
Titans earn silver
The Kamloops Titans went 3-1-1 to finish second to the host squad at the weekend's Lillooet Pee Wee Recreational Tournament.
The Titans tied the Kamloops Ice Dawgs 4-4, led by Kyle Brayer (2G), Christopher Penner (1G,1A), Spencer Shyiak (1G) and Alexander Viventi (1A). Atticus Foulds was in net. Game MVP was Jayden Williams.
Kamloops defeated Logan Lake 6-1 behind the scoring of Shyiak (3G), Penner (2G), Brayer (1G,1A), Liam Rose (1A) and Angus McQuillan-Gordon (1A). Foulds got the win in net. Shyiak was named Game MVP.
The Titans then shut out 100 Mile House 4-0. Penner (2G), Joseph Benastick (1G), Rose (1G) and Viventi led the way, with Foulds recording the shutout and being named Game MVP.
Kamloops lost 3-2 to Lillooet, with Penner and Shyiak scoring and McQuillan-Gordon being named Game MVP.
The Titans wrapped up the tourney with a 12-2 win over the Lillooet girls' squad, with scoring coming from Penner (3G,2A), Shyiak (3G,1A), Brayer (2G,2A), Rose (1G, 3A), Williams (1G), Foster Wynne (1G) and Sebastian Ouimet (1G), McQuillan-Gordon (1A), Braeden Bartlett (1A) and Darcy Rowden (1A).
Viventi got the win in goal, while Rose was named Game MVP.
Thunder victorious
In Novice action, the Thunder defeated the Flyers 8-3.
The Thunder were paced by Nolan Viesner (4G), Cooper Macleod (3G), Levi Costigan (1G. Sam Benastick got the win in goal.
Scoring for the Flyers were Brady Milburn (2G) and Reggie Newman (1G). John Hicks was in net.
Dirty Brian and the Boys
In midget action, Dirty Brian and the Boys defeated the Gringos 6-3.
Scoring the Dirty Brian and the Boys were Tyson Johnston (3G), Dylan O'Grady (1G), Brenden Ruttan (1G), Riley Polacik (1G, 3A), Seven Scheifele (1A), Darion Norcick (1A). Jake Birkland and DJ Lapierre were in goal.
Scoring for the Gringos were Eli Peris (2G), Chad Kets (1G), Chad Ketsa (1A), Eric Simmons (1A) and Konner Smith (1A). Blake Rose and Kolby Pauwels were in goal.
Warriors best Thunder
In atom recreation action, the Warriors defeated the Thunder 3-1.
Scoring for the Warriors were Connor Defoe (2G) and RJ Gerow (1G). Joey McKinnon was in goal.
Scoring for the Thunder were Michael Nolander (1G) and Hunter Coleman (1G). Nolan Austin was in goal.
Assassins on target
In atom recreation action, the Assassins defeated the Warriors 10-9.
The Assassins were paced by Tristan Coetzer (5G, 2A), Conlin Erichuk (2G), Zachary Gilbert (2G, 2A) and Tristan Collins (1G, 1A), Ryan Mitchell (2A), Samuel Lewis (1A) and Ryan Collins (1A).

Beauts by a deuce
In bantam recreation action, the Beauts defeated the Shoppers Drug Mart Rockets 10-8. Highlighting the scoring for the Beauts were Brett Olstad (3G, 3A) and Bailey Henry (3G, 2A).
For the Rockets, Nolan Dicostanza (1G, 2A) and Pierce Huser (1G) were stand outs.
Crushers edge Rockets
In novice orange minor action, the Timbits Crushers defeated the Timbits Rockets 8-7.
The Crushers were paced by Zakery Anderson (3G), Grady Egeland (2G), Jagger DelaGorgendiere (1G), Jake Bradley (1G) and Rhys Gustafson (1G).
Scoring for the Rockets were Max Smith (2G, 2A), Tyler Dhaliwal (1G), Ryan Larsen (1G), Rylan Newport (1G), Jake Poulsen (1G), Nate Van Unen (1G), Ryan Watson (2A). Kolby Hay was in goal.
Bandits ransack Williams Lake
The Scotiabank Bandits picked up a pair of Atom Development exhibition road victories Saturday, downing the host Williams Lake Timberwolves 7-3 and 8-1.
Aidan Sutter scored twice to lead the Bandits in the opening game. Reed Watson, Justin Vinterlik, Branden Toye, Cole Senum and Tyson Galloway also tallied in support of winning goaltender Zach Kohorst.
The Bandits spread the scoring around in the second victory, with Galloway, Vinterlik, Sutter, Watson, Trey Dergousoff, Reagan Milburn, Brendan Hunchak and Connor Jensen all finding the twine. Bailey Monteith picked up the netminding victory.
The Bandits are off to Kelowna for a tournament this weekend.
Nailers split
In atom development action, the Nailers split their games, defeating the Winfield Bruins 8-7 and losing to Vernon Wolfpack 7-2.
The Nailers were paced by Logan Stankoven (4G, 2A), Noah Bradley (1G, 2A), Harrison Ewert (1G, 3A), Carter McLellan (1G, 1A), Brendan Kirschner (1G), Matthew Mariona (1G), Jacob Proulx (1G, 1A), Andrew Senger (2A) and Carson Evoy (1A). Austin Krug and Adam Niles were in net.
Jets find turbulence in Thunder
In bantam recreation, the Kamloops Thunder defeated the Kamloops Jets 7-4.
The Thunder were paced by Austin Mark-Hashimoto (4G, 1A), Ryland Nakashima (2G), Josh Ippoito (1G, 1A), Hunter Braten (2A) and Brett Steptoe (1A).
Scoring for the Jets were Slater Gordon (1G, 2A), Austin Morphy (1G, 1A), Karn Mahal (1G, 1A), Tyson Koehl (1G) and Tristan Black (1A). Dylan Czajkowski got the win in goal.
Roughnecks win B Final
In atom recreation action, the Kamloops Roughnecks won the B Final in the Sicamous Atom tournament posting a 3-1 overall record.
Among those who recorded points were Domenica Comita (3G, 1A), Kyle Proulx (2G), Xander Denis (1G, 1A), Keegan Leblanc (1G), Ben Anderson (1A), Colby Cooper (3A), Sterling Von Dehn (2A), Max Hinkson (1A) and Devin Smith (1A).
On Saturday, points came from Hinkson, Smith, Comita and Ben Smith, Proulx, Von Dehn and Denis, Leblance, Aidan McPhee, Josh Glover, Cooper, Glover and Del Neveu.
Sunday’s championship game was a battle of two Kamloops league rivals with the Roughnecks defeating the Kamloops Ice Kings 3-2.
Scoring for the Roughneck were Proulx (1G), Hinkson (2G), Comita (1A) and Ben Smith (2A). Sam Fawcett earned the win in goal.
Lions claw Merritt
The North Kamloops Lions beat Merritt 4-1 in pee wee tier 3 action on Jan. 13.
Scoring for North Kamloops were Brendan Mucha (1G,1A), Brandon Gremaud (1G), Ben Ward (1G,1A), Adam Harrison(1G), Corson Nordick (2A), Lachlan Tomm (1A), Josh Bymoen (1A), Hunter Dairon (1A), Kaden Dempsey (1A).

The Kamloops Ice Dawgs finished third at the Lillooet Peewee Recreational Tournament on the weekend of Jan. 11-13.
The Ice Dawgs finished with a record of 3-1-1, defeating Lillooet's girls' team 9-2, Logan Lake 3-1 and 100 Mile House 5-2. The Dawgs tied the Kamloops Titans 4-4 and lost 5-3 to Lillooet.
Aussie Martin was between the pipes for all five games.
Scoring for the Ice Dawgs during the tournament were Braeden Crowe (5G)
Connor Hall (7G), Jarret Daoust (7G), Jake Thomas, Will Alberts (2G), Anthony Corea, Devan Devries.
Game MVPs were Martin, Alberts, Becky Ramgren, Georgia Mclellan and Daoust.
Blazers sweep Prince George
The Kamloops Jardine's Blazers won both bantam tier 1 league games in Prince George on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13.
Kamloops won 4-3 behind the scoring of Tyler Ward (1G), Solomon Seibel (1A), Alexander Buchanan (1A), Brendan Semchuk (1G), Tre Dupilka-Sales (2G), Aidan Bar-Leve-Wise 1(A), Rob Johnson (1A), Dario Piva (1A), Cody Allen (1A)
Spencer Eschyschyn notched the win in net.
The Blazers then knocked off the Cougars 7-0 and were led by Piva (1G), Adam Toor (1A), Michael Fidanza (1G,1A), Tyler Baker (2A), Bar-Lev-Wise (2G), Jared Smith (1A), Dupilka-Sales (1A), Buchanan (1G), Ward (2A), Allen (1G,1A), Semchuk (1G,1A) and Johnson (1A).
Daniel Toews secured the shutout for Kamloops.
Badgers batter Raiders
The Kamloops Honey Badgers defeated the Kamloops Raiders 8-3 in pee wee recreational action on Jan. 14.
Scoring for the Raiders were Hudson Irvine (2G), Ben Pearse (1G), Josh Olynyk (1A) and Victor Church (1A).
Nik Shufletoski was between the pipes.
Leading the Honey Badgers were Lauren Walkley (2G), Grace Miller (1G), Jack Thomson (1G), Madison Ouellette (1G,1A), Blake Ablitt (1G), Riley Toporowski (1G), Carson Desmarais (1G) and Thomas Ratuski (2A).

Thunder edged by Chase
In pee wee female action on Jan. 12, Chase edged the Kamloops Thunder 4-3.
Scoring for Chase were Ellie Gartrell (1G,1A), Shyla Fletcher (1G), Tahina Denault (2G) and Maria Wilson (1A).
Responding for Kamloops was Emma Knight, with the hat trick.
On Jan. 13, the Thunder defeated Thompson-Cariboo 5-1.
Kamloops was led by Charlotte Hutchison (1G), Kylie Coates (1A), Gabby Paulsen-Chamberlain (1G), Knight (2G,1A), Gabby Paulsen-Chamberlain (1A) and Abby Gilbert (1G).
Lions lose first of season; rebound for win next day
The North Kamloops Lions bantam tier 3 squad dropped a 5-1 decision to Revelstoke on Jan. 12, a setback that was their first of the season.
Zac Austin scored the only goal, while Chris Dakers and Kyle Hutton each had an assist.
On Jan 13, the Lions defeated Vernon 4-1 and were paced by Harrison Rosch (1G,1A), Garrett Kellington (1G,1A), Conan Poss (1G), McCoy Pearce (1G), Gabe Graham-Boyd (1A), Parker Matheson (1A) and Wyatt Brook (1A).
Nic Boehm was in goal for the win.
Mystix teach elders an on-ice lesson
The Kamloops Mystix bantam female squad defeated Prince George's older female midget squad 4-3 on Jan. 12.
Leading Kamloops were Zoe Birkett (1G), Kendall Fitzgerald (1G), Lilly McLean (1G), Alison Borrow (1G,2A), Ts'setkwu Dunstan-Footit (1A), Keisha Johnson (1A), Jordan Glavin (1A), Katelynn Merritt (1A), Jordan Glavin (1A) and Kendall Fitzgerald (1A).
