Blazers trade wins with Cougars at CN Centre
The Kamloops Blazers split a pair of Western Hockey League games with the Cougars in Prince George on the weekend.
Sam Grist scored the overtime winner in a 2-1 win for the Blazers at the CN Centre on Saturday, Jan. 12.
Dylan Willick, a Prince George product, also scored for the Blue and Orange in support of netminder Cole Cheveldave, who made 26 saves.
The Cougars skated to a 1-0 win over the Blazers on Friday, Jan. 11.
Brett Zarowny was outstanding between the pipes for Prince George, making 44 saves en route to a shutout.
Cheveldave made 19 saves in a losing cause.
JC Lipon and Marek Hrbas were back in the Blazer lineup on Friday after returning from international duty at the world junior hockey championship in Ufa, Russia.
Kamloops is back in action tonight on Vancouver Island.
The Victoria Royals are hosting the Blazers in the front end of a two-game set, with the rematch scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 16.
