Vees edged by Eagles thanks to newcomer
Adam Tambellini netted the game-winning goal to help his new team, the Surrey Eagles defeat the Penticton Vees 2-1 at the South Surrey Arena.
Tambellini's winner came with five minutes remaining in the second period. He also scored the opener in the same frame. Jedd Soleway scored the lone goal for the Vees, who according to the Vees' blog, had two goals disallowed. The Vees best chance to tie the game belonged to Brad McClure, who found a rebound at the side of the net, but pushed a bouncing puck wide.
Vees goalie Nic Renyard made 22 saves. The Vees play tonight in Langley, where Vees defenceman Thomas Nitsche will face his former team, the Rivermen since his trade.
