Scharff off to the big league
Vancouver Giants head equipment manager Chad Scharff is off to the big league as the long-time Giant announced his resignation on Tuesday to join the Edmonton Oilers as their assistant equipment manager.
Originally from Airdrie, Alberta, Scharff was part of the Giants’ original bantam draft class in 2001 and has served as a scout and an assistant coach with the Western Hockey League organization.
Scharff attended South Delta Secondary School while playing defence for the Giants. In parts of five seasons, Scharff accumulated 28 points in 179 regular season games.
The Giants organization thanked Scharff for his hard work and dedication to the team over the past decade in a press release Tuesday.
