Nelson Junior Leafs started ahead but couldn't hold their lead against the Castlegar Rebels in Sunday's road game.

The Leafs started off strong, with two goals seconds apart by Linden Horswill and Bryce Nielsen two minutes into the game. But, the Rebels slipped one past Leafs starting goalie Marcus Beesly just before the first the first buzzer.

The second frame started with a power play goal by James Sorrey. But the Rebels evened the score with two quick goals.

Going into the third period with a tied score, the Rebels kept the pressure on and scored twice more before the end of the game.

The Leafs continue their road trip next weekend with games in Chase, Kamloops and Armstrong. The next home game is Friday, January 18 against Columbia Valley.
