Kootenay Ice defeat Spokane, Calgary

The Kootenay ICE had a home and home with Spokane losing 1-0 Friday at home and then beating Spokane 7-3 in Spokane on Saturday.

The ICE then faced off against the Calgary Hitmen on New Year's Eve and beat the Hitmen 3-2.

On Friday night Kootenay played well enough to beat Spokane but could not convert on their chances. Mackenzie Skapski had 24 saves in the 1-0 loss.

Saturday night the ICE made good on their chances beating the Chiefs 7-3. Sam Reinhart and Jaedon Descheneau both had 3 point nights while Austin Vetterl had a 2 point night. Mackenzie Skapski made 39 saves for the victory over Spokane.

The always tough Calgary Hitmen came into Western Financial Place New Years Eve looking for a win but the ICE out worked them for a 3-2 win. Brock Montgomery had 2 goals and Skapski stood tall with 36 saves.
