Cowichan players among selections on team being co-coached by Skene
Cowichan Secondary School and Cowichan Rugby Club coach Brad Skene will be the co-coach of the B.C. Rugby Union Under 18 women’s sevens team travelling to the Las Vegas sevens invitational in February.
The coaching staff of Skene and Pat Fleck ran weekend trials in Nanaimo and Burnaby. The final camp ahead of the trip will be on Jan. 12-13.
Fleck has been a regional High Performance coach for the B.C. Rugby Union since 2006. He was head coach of the Women’s Canadian Maple Leafs at the 2011 Dubai sevens.
Cowichan players Adrienne Saari, Brittany Reid, Allie White and Leah Theobald were all selected to the team. Darien Hobday was made a non-travelling reserve.
Sam Jory is travelling to the same tournament with a separate B.C. team called the B.C. Banshees.
