First-placed Bucs keep pushing
The Nanaimo Buccaneers have climbed back into first place, and don’t want to let up now.
The city’s Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League expansion team hosts its divisional rivals the Campbell River Storm tonight (Dec. 6) at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
The Bucs sit atop the North Island Division and won their last game 4-2 over the Kerry Park Islanders on Saturday at Mill Bay.
Dan Foglietta led the Bucs with two goals in that game and Garrett Dunlop and Corey Renwick had the others. Riley Medves was the winning goalie as his team outshot the Isles 38-21.
GAME ON … The Buccaneers (13-11-2) host the last-placed Storm (6-19-2) tonight in a 7:15 p.m. start at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. Tickets cost $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and students and $5 for kids and will be available at the door.
