Vancouver dumps Kamloops

Vancouver Rowing Club successfully defended its home turf, posting two wins over the Kamloops Raiders in B.C. Rugby Union play on Saturday at the Brockton Oval.

In men's first-division play, the Rowers downed the Raiders 33-18.

Sam Bogetti scored two tries in a losing cause for the visitors and Brandon Kicia had one try.

Cole Levitt rounded out the scoring for Kamloops with a penalty kick.

In men's second-division play, the hometown club posted a 15-5 win over the Raiders, whose only points were scored when Derek Demsey dotted down for a try.

Kamloops' first-division side is 6-3, while the second-tier squad is 2-7.

The Raiders are not scheduled to play another league game until Feb. 23, when both the men's first- and second-division teams play the Beavers in Surrey.
