Valleyview skaters enjoy medal haul

There were 10 members of Valleyview Skating Club (VSC) at the Snowball Freeskate competition, held in Oliver on Saturday, Nov. 24, and Sunday, Nov. 25.

Cassandra Labermeyer placed first in the gold creative and bronze interpretive categories and won silver in the senior bronze freeskate.

In the bronze interpretive division, Kirsty Newbury placed fourth. She also finished sixth in the Star 4 freeskate.

Mackenzie Sewell won gold in the introductory interpretive competition and silver  in the Star 3 freeskate.

Lauren Mark was fifth in introductory interpretive and third in the Star 3 freeskate.

Brenna Wassing won two bronze medals — in the Star 2 freeskate and preliminary creative events

In Star 3 competition, Haley Barber won silver to augment a bronze-medal finish in introductory interpretive.

Megan Barber won bronze in Star 2 freeskate and placed fifth in preliminary creative.

Erica Bruvold won gold and Olivia Eccleston won bronze in Star 2 freeskate and Alexandra Bruvold placed third in Star 3 freeskate.
