Capilano conquers Burnaby Lake

The defending Rugby BC Premier League champion Capilano Rugby Club scored 18 points in the second half to down the visiting rival Burnaby Lake Rugby Club 21-9 last Saturday.

Burnaby led 6-3 after the first half on a pair of Admir Cejvanovic penalty kicks. He added a third in the second half.

"Weather was certainly the equalizer and it was competitive, just as we knew it would be," said Burnaby head coach Kris de Scossa in a press release. "I think [Saturday's game] showed we had only played one game coming in and that was Capilano's fourth of the season."

Capilano is in first place with a 3-1 record while Burnaby, who will play host to the University of Victoria Vikings (1-2) on Saturday (2:45 p.m.) is 1-1.

In first division play last Saturday, Capilano defeated BLRC 8-5, while the Burnaby Lake women's tier one squad downed Capilano 25-5.
