The Aldergrove Skating Club had a spectacular weekend at the BC/YT Synchronized Skating Championships, held Saturday at the South Surrey Arena. The four teams, ranging in age from six years old to 56, all brought home gold medals.

The Snowflakes Beginner 2 level team, skating to a puppy dog theme, had two great skates. They placed second after their first skate and pulled together for a stronger performance to place first after the second skate. This gave them a final placing of first, giving Aldergrove the first gold medal of the day.

The Ice Angels Juvenile team  got the crowd roaring with their baseball theme. They had two clean skates, placing first after each, and bringing home the second gold medal.

The Black Ice Pre-Novice team looked the part for their "Bad to the Bone" theme. They had a fall in the first skate to place second and came back with a strong performance, placing first and finishing overall with another gold medal.

The Ice Silhouette Adult 3 team skated to "Don't stop Believin;" and "Fireworks" and had many compliments about their crowd pleasing skate. They placed first after both skates and completed the set of four gold medals for four Aldergrove teams.

The Ice Silhouette, Black Ice and Ice Angels will be travelling to Edmonton on January 26 for the Mountain Regional Championships and competing against teams from all over B.C. and Alberta. We wish them the best of luck.
