Kootenay Rovers collect medals

The Kootenay Rovers U11 development team represented our association in fine fashion bringing home two bronze medals out of three tournaments.

The girls braved extremely cool conditions winning their first medal at the Terry Walgren Memorial, held in Nelson on May 5 to 7.

Their second medal was awarded in Lethbridge, which was held on June 10 to 11. The team defeated a very competitive and fierce U11 Blizzards team from Calgary in a nerve-racking shootout.

The team has grown, adding eight new players to the roster, all of which have worked very hard this season.

Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents and fans for your support and commitment throughout the season.

The girls could not have done it without all of you!

A special thank you to Team Manager Joanne Lees for keeping us organized, Coach Greg Andreas and Assistant Coach Lorna Schiefner.

The girls will be travelling to Sandpoint, Idaho in September for the Pend Orielle Cup.
