Thunderbirds clip Pack

Fulton Maroon grad Brett Rouault chipped in with 10 points as the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack fell 101-63 to the host UBC Thunderbirds in CIS men’s basketball action Friday night.

The T-Birds, now 19-2, continue to battle for first place in the Canada West. TRU dipped to 4-19.

“We came out well,” said WolfPack head coach Scott Clark. “But we turned over the ball too much for layups. They are a good quality team and we couldn’t recover.”

The Thunderbirds had five players in double figures led by Brent Malish with 22 points. Josh Whyte added 21 points with Alex Murphy chipping in with 17.

The WolfPack were down 29-18 at the quarter, and trailed 64-32 at the half.

TRU was led by Greg Stewart with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Chas Kok had 14 points.

The two teams battled again Saturday night in Vancouver.
