Why you should vote “no” (on developing Southlands).

You should vote “no” if you believe you can stop change—the little boy with a finger in the dike thought he could.

You should vote “no” if you believe a stagnant or shrinking population can attract provincial and federal tax resources for our roads, hospitals and schools.

You should vote “no” if you believe a stagnant population will not have to pay increasingly higher taxes simply to maintain our current level of services.

You should vote “no” if you prefer large scale industrial farming practices in the middle of our community

You should vote “no” if you have not taken the time to explore the alternatives developed by a year’s work by a group of citizen volunteers supported by many experts brought in to help us create economically and socially viable options.

You should vote “no” if you believe it is to o late to contribute valuable positive suggestions. Please think carefully and be proud to join the conversation.

Sue Lloyd,

Southlands Community Planning Team volunteer,
