The next Tsawwassen Outdoor Movie Night and Block Party is set for Saturday (Aug. 22) night at Tsawwassen Town Centre Mall. Events for the second of three movie nights organized by the Business Improvement Association of Tsawwassen includes live stage shows featuring martial arts, a fashion show, flamenco dancing and music by local band Tin Pan Alley.
Close to 20 participating businesses and groups will host activities, demos, and games celebrating the evening movie which features the popular green animated ogre voice by Mike Myers of Saturday Night Live and Austin Powersfame. Regulations prevent publication of movie titles that are screened in public for free.
There will also be a bouncy castle, the McDonald’s sports zone, pottery, crafts, photos, a chance to visit with Ronald McDonald, decorating of gingerbread men, concession food and popcorn by the TOOB and a silent auction for a Shrek the Third poster signed by the film’s animators, plus a raffle for a basket full of Shrek goodies. Bids can be made at Albany Books in Tsawwassen (1240 56 Street) or on movie night until 8:30 p.m. Proceeds go to the Delta Hospice Society.
