Although she'd never dyed her hair before, Nikki Baiza was excited.

The mom of three was nominated for the Be Fabulous makeover by a friend who described Nikki as a "friendly and welcoming and lovely person . . . I really wanted her to have some 'mommy' time where she could refresh and feel fabulous afterwards."

Nikki described her style as simple.

"Just basics. I'm starting to implement more colours, I like reds and hot pinks . . . The biggest thing I'm looking forward to is getting my hair coloured. I haven't ever gotten that done yet before."

Before hair, make-up, a manicure and pedicure, Nikki was first taken on an educational shopping trip with Be Fab stylist Rachel Zaharik.

Said Rachel, "We got a pair of tights, really comfy tights. And a little dress that she can still move around in—super cozy. And a beautiful, beautiful sweater, a big chunky sweater to keep her warm in the winter."

"It's different than whatever I would pick out, but it's very nice," said Nikki, whose husband was on hand for the reveal.

Spa Vilamoura

Nikki spent the morning of her Be Fab makeover being pampered at Tsawwassen-based Spa Vilamoura.

Owner Kim Oldham provided her experienced staff to apply Nikki's make-up, provide tips, and gave her a manicure and pedicure, choosing rich red colour for her nails.

Myne2 Hair Spa

Myne2 stylist Rachel gave Nikki a gentle introduction to colouring her hair, adding a highlight a few shades lighter than her natural colour, and a few lowlights to give her locks some depth. She then blended in a semi-permanent colour to cover any grey.

Said Nikki, "I love the hair colour, and the style is completely different from what I thought it would be, but I love it."
