Point Roberts celebrated Independence Day with extraterrestrial flair. An outer space-themed parade drew 45 entries and saw 'Stargate Atlantis' actor David Hewlett act as grand marshal. Fans nabbed autographs from the science fiction TV star at Lighthouse Marine Park after the parade. The festivities, organized by the Point Roberts Chamber of Commerce, also included children’s games, live entertainment, and a ladies-only rolling pin tossing contest.
