On behalf of Richmond Public Health, I would like to thank the families and their babies who came to the Breastfeeding Celebration at Richmond City Hall on Oct 3.
In the spirit of the upcoming Olympics, this year’s theme “Go for the Gold” emphasized the importance of breast milk as the “gold standard” for infant nutrition from birth to beyond the first year.
Breastfeeding promotes optimal health of mothers and babies. By supporting and encouraging breastfeeding, each of us has a role to play in making Richmond the healthiest place to raise a family.
Thank you to the sponsors who donated door prizes and refreshments and our community partners for their participation.
