A man who tried to buy $3,000 in Future Shop merchandise after getting a new credit card with a fake drivers licence, shouldn't be that hard to catch.

And he certainly won't be considered the sharpest knife in the drawer.

On Oct. 17, around 11:30 a.m., Richmond Mounties were called to the Future Shop at Lansdowne Centre.

According to staff, the young suspect used a fake driver's licence to get a credit account set up, and then tried to buy $3,000 in goods.

But when staff took a closer look at the driver's licence, they realized it was a fake and called Richmond RCMP.

"The suspect took off and left behind his fake licence which had false information on it, however, it did have his legitimate photo attached," Richmond RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Pound said.
