Richmond Mounties are looking for a caucasian man with a slim build after the Bank of Nova Scotia at Bridgeport Road and No. 5 Road, was robbed early Tuesday afternoon.
Richmond RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Pound said a man entered the bank and produced a note to the teller, and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen heading north on No. 5 Road.
According to police, witnesses describe the suspect as about 30 years old, five feet eight inches tall, with a slim face, a goatee, and was wearing a dark navy blue toque, a blue v-neck jersey, and black shorts with white and red on the sides.
According to a witness who called The Richmond Review shortly after the robbery, the man was patiently standing in line waiting for a free teller for quite some time before suddenly bolting for the door after passing the teller a note.
She said the man wasn't acting nervously, and seemed to flee as soon as he laid down the note.
But she described the robber differently than police: she said he was about six feet tall, wearing red shorts with a white jacket and a beige baseball cap with a number on it.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to call the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212.
