The Steveston Museum Summer Music Series continues this Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. in the park surrounding the Steveston Museum.

This Saturday the exquisite guitar music of Norman Avelino will be showcased outdoors against a backdrop of the work of three leading local artists in the museum’s beautiful park.

Weather permitting, art work will be on display from midday, with Avelino playing for an hour.

The Summer Music Series presents local music for the public’s enjoyment while also spreading the word about the opportunities for people to participate in the creatively rich art and historic craft guilds of Richmond.

This Saturday, the focus is on art, particularly works by Rita McArthur, Margreth Fry and Ramona Augustus. Their art features many Richmond and Steveston scenes in both acrylic and water media.

These artists are members of the Richmond Artists’ Guild, a group of artists which offers regular classes and monthly demonstrations by visiting artists. For more information about the Richmond Artists’ Guild, please call Rita McArthur at 604-272-9294.

The final Steveston Museum Summer Music Series for this year will take place on Saturday, August 15 between noon and 2 p.m.
