Updated: October 23, 2009 4:40 PM
The Richmond scout groups are hosting a Scouting Carnival for Richmond Youths (scouts & non-scouts) on Saturday, Oct. 24 at King George Park.
The carnival will explore the “fun” part of scouting activities while demonstrating some of the key traits that can be learned only through group co-operation, such as leadership, strategic development and self-improvement.
Activities include monkey bridges, towers-building, target launching and more.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at King George Park (on Cambie Road near No. 5 Road).
Scouts Canada is a co-ed organization run by volunteers for youths from ages 5 to 26. Its diverse outdoor programs, leadership training opportunities, and focus on values provide a strong foundation for young Canadians to learn new skills and meet new friends in a fun environment.
