The theme of this year’s World Food Day celebrations at the Richmond Cultural Centre on Saturday, Oct. 17, is potatoes.

The fifth annual celebration will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 14 local groups will have information tables set up.

Chef Ian Lai, with the assistance of his Northwest Culinary Academy of Vancouver students, will be preparing all the food, and there will be live music throughout.

The last Farmers Pocket Market of the year will be held in the outside plaza.

For more information, read Mary Gazetas’ column on Page 8.
