Missing the point

With regard to the editorial concerning political spin and sloganism, I believe the writer missed the point.

Canada and Poland have roughly equivalent populations. However, it is my understanding that Canada's annual gross domestic product is 3.5 times that of Poland and our coastal length is about 450 times the length of Poland's coast fronting the Baltic Sea.

My question is, under the circumstances, why does this province not have a ship building industry sufficient to build our own fleet of ferries?

The fact that Seaspan Marine pulled out of bidding is irrelevant and simply highlights our government's mismanagement of our jobs program.
