When will the deer cull start?

Recently I was returning home from a theatre evening with two grandchildren.

Suddenly a deer was in front of us, which then sauntered off. Parking next at home we saw two bucks, complete with large antlers, looking at us but not moving. (They had been grazing on my windfall apples that I put on the street for passers-by but had inadvertently left on the ground that evening.)

Neighbours across the street and next door  said that deer were there. Next, a couple of people came around the corner. The deer eventually ambled slowly off despite being surrounded by eight people.

By my oversight I confess to breaking the by-law on feeding deer.

I repeat my question. When will the deer cull in Oak Bay start?
