Take your bribe and stuff it

I would like to share a few comments about the $40 per day the government is offering to parents.

I am a father with two children in elementary school. Come September that is where they need to be.

Can the finance minister please direct me to a daycare that charges only $40 per day? And if he can do that can he guarantee me two spaces? Is he going to make daycare available for all the children who are not in school? As any parent with children in daycare knows, the cost is at least double that.

If you can find a spot.

Why is this money available to parents but not to the teachers? Instead of trying to bribe parents why not bargain in good faith? I’d like to see the library in our school open every day. With an actual librarian in the library. When I was in school that’s what we had, didn’t you?

I would like the children with extra needs to have the assistance so they can succeed. I want my child’s teacher to be teaching, not walking a picket line.

Put the money on the table and get my kids back in school.

That is where they need to be. That is where they deserve to be.

And take your bribe and stuff it.
