Pipeline move timing poor for lake users

Re: Pipeline move to boost parking off Parkway (Gazette, June 20)

Langford is putting construction ahead of taxpayers and closing a Langford Lake access for the entire summer instead of doing the road work during the other 10 months of the year when the lake is not used.

It is unacceptable that the new lake is being closed to all Langford Parkway access between July 2 and Aug. 30, when there is absolutely no need. The suggestion to use Glen Lake, which is full of weeds and toxins, is not a safe or clean alternative and you cannot even see the lake bottom for the grime.

I encourage everyone who uses Langford Lake regularly in the summer to email Langford’s  engineering department and ask that they move the construction start back to September, so residents can finally use the new park that was just created.
