Timing right for South Courtenay sewer line
This is a letter of appreciation and encouragement for all the people involved in creating such a great trail from Royston Wrecks along the seashore north towards Courtenay.
Even though this trail doesn’t connect yet with the south part of the airpark trail in Courtenay, it has brought us very close to having a pathway all the way to Royston.
I am a homeowner in the section of properties that are in between the two trails and do hope to see the continuation of the paths so that one could travel by foot or bicycle along the oceanfront from Courtenay to Royston without interruption and away from the busy road.
Our area, called South Courtenay, has just recently been annexed into the City of Courtenay and with this new development we are expecting that there will now be a sewer pipe installed along the foreshore right of way to service the homes that have up to this point been on septic systems.
Isn’t this a perfect opportunity to then create the last stretch of path to be built which will connect the two existing paths?
The clearing of right of way and installation of pipe and path in one process seems not only plausible but also the least expensive way to go for the taxpayer.
We have been warned that having been brought into the City of Courtenay our taxes will go up.
My hope is that we will be treated fairly and receive the services we should in a timely fashion. Show us what you’ve got Courtenay!
