Rodeo editorial was ill-informed

Re: Cruelty in the eye of the beholder (Our View, May 14)

Your editorial claiming that rodeo animals are not treated cruelly not only flies in the face of common sense, but also of expert opinion.

The B.C. SPCA opposes rodeo, along with the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies and the national SPCAs of the United States, Australia and New Zealand. These are the professional agencies we entrust with the protection of animals and they have all determined that rodeo is inhumane.

Are you seriously claiming that you have a better understanding of rodeo than these organizations?
