Enforcement a must for distracted drivers
Missing from your Driving for a change article (News, May 7) is whether the students recognize that more and stiffer laws don’t help, the problem is lack of police on the street.
They may achieve a worthwhile advance in public education with their effort, that would be commendable, but more and stiffer laws are just do-gooder actions that will have little impact without proper funding for police.
Are BC schools teaching the need for getting police in the face of negligent individuals, based on causing substantial risk of harm to others? I doubt it, given the dismal performance of schools in combating bullying.
