Incinerator electricity would be costly

If Metro Vancouver builds its garbage incinerator, it will have to be classed as ‘green’ renewable energy, which Metro would sell to BC Hydro for four times current Hydro rates.

These higher rates would be passed on to all B.C. residents. So, if you’re OK with that, do nothing. Otherwise, do something and quickly.

Proponents argue that the ash residue is “only” 10 per cent and not 20 per cent. Is  anyone OK with even 70 tonnes of toxic ash being landfilled somewhere in B.C. for at least 50 years? Oh, and goodbye to recycling, it’s combustible.
