Letter: Time to look at real results after citizens rejected HST

To the editor:

I think an article by your paper regarding all the downfalls the government of B.C. said would happen if the citizens of this province rejected the HST would be an interesting read at this time.

The cost to the tax payer was going to be in the mega millions, was it not? Was this an attempt to once again preach doom and gloom if we didn’t go along with the government’s decision?

The way this tax was implemented was [reprehensible].

Is it too much to ask that we get a proper explanation on such a change in our system of taxation in this province?

Why all the silence about this and what effect this change made to the province, if any?

Time to take the politics out of the direction and prosperity that is available to the citizens of this province. The pipeline and the employment that’s possible is a good place to put a lot more effort.
