Letter: Strong support for cadets
To the editor;
The 746 Lightning Hawk Squadron wishes to express its sincere thanks to the residents of Cloverdale. Last weekend the Squadron held its winter Tag Days fundraiser in Langley and Cloverdale. The event was a great success and Cloverdale has again shown its continued strong support for the Royal Canadian Air Cadets.
The 746 Lightning Hawk Squadron is a not-for-profit organization open to young men and women between the ages of 12 and 19. Tag Day funds are used to offset the costs of activities, which are not funded by the Department of National Defence. The Air Cadet program provides the opportunity for young people to develop valuable life skills while taking part in survival camps, gliding, drill, music, sports programs, sport competitions and social activities.
We would also like to bring to the attention of readers that the squadron is celebrating its 50th year of service this year.
To celebrate the 50th, the squadron will be hosting an Alumni Dinner April 12. It’s open to all past cadets, officers and other friends of the Squadron.
