Letter: Kelowna addresses are not displayed
To the editor:
It happened again today.
Driving down main streets I looked for numbers to guide me to my destination and I found no numbers to indicate my nearness to it.
Disgusting that this should be so in a city that prides itself with good city planning and offers free city maps aplenty.
Locations we should get to usually show a good address [on a map] but trying to find it [in real life] often becomes a challenge without homes or businesses properly marked with good sized numbers.
In my previous home, also in B.C., local jurisdictions mandated every property owner to clearly affix the house number to the building in minimum size digits of 8 cm. height—no more confusion for anyone—cab drivers, delivery drivers, visitors and all.
Just why can’t Kelowna do that?
