Letter: Delta doing a great job
While I was out-of-town a couple weeks back someone crashed into the barrier at the end of 12th Avenue and English Bluff Road. Wiped it out. Looks like it involved a fire, too.
So I was more than a little pleased to witness the total replacement of the barrier this afternoon in spit-spot time, as Mary Poppins would say.
Efficiently, crisply, neatly, fully.
And that put me to mind of some other observed phenomena from DeltaCorp that deserve a Huzzah! or two.
The revamped intersection at Arthur Drive and Ladner Trunk Road. Way more better than one of those goofy roundabouts that seem to have caught engineers’ fancy across the land. Nicely done in design and execution, that.
Then there’s the gentrification throughout Ladner, particularly all the coach and lane housing. Stupidly expensive stuff that sickens at the pay prospect, but some very nice homes along streets whose replaced single family dwellings had gone south.
And finally approval of Southlands with its 8:1 greenspace ratio for lucky Boundary Bay residents. Flood plain issues to the contrary notwithstanding, the design put forward will be the envy of all the “Surdel Burquitlam” blah-blah-ditto-designed suburbs across Metro.
Yes, there are many reasons to champion living in our still-largely-undiscovered corner of paradise. Carry on, DeltaCorp, keep on keeping on with all the improvements both large and small.
