Let's all try harder to make it safer out there on streets
Re: Les Disher's letter of Sept. 10 re: the problems between cyclists and motorists.
You and I, sir, agree a great deal with regards this problem.
I do not have the answers to the problem, but I do feel that we all should sit down, take a few minutes, and give some serious thought to our driving habits as cyclists and motorists.
Yes, it is a mess on both sides of the coin. A lot of the problem starts with the fact that we, being all concerned, are usually in a hurry to get from A to B and do not really think of where we are and what we are doing.
This results in mistakes that can have disastrous results.
I do not want to take undue credit, but I have noticed more cyclists in helmets and more use of bike lanes. But it remains, there are still those who do not conform. One should not let one's guard down for a minute.
Let's all try harder to make it safer out there on the streets. Give each other a break; it may save someone's life.
Don't holler at the dummies, pity them for their inconsideration. What goes around; comes around.
It's a beautiful world out there; let's all enjoy it safely.
