Complaints at Burnaby Central merit a public airing
Re: New school sparks complaints (NewsLeader, March 15)
I live a block from Burnaby Central and often speak with students in the neighbourhood about their school (My own kids graduated from Central).
I was told that their letter and list of concerns was addressed to Roberto Bombelli, past principal and now assistant superindent of the Burnaby School District. What the kids were asking for was that their ex-principal "advocate" for them. The specific request was that he place their list of grievances on the school board agenda, and give it a public airing.
I hope that does happen. It's great to see our teens outspoken and organized.
Given what that new complex cost us, let's make sure that our kids don't have to keep maintenance logs on their own school.
