Leaf blowers need bylaw

We greatly resonated with the article on Leaf Blowers by Joseph Blake in the Feb. 27 issue of the Oak Bay Connector.
Leaf blowers are another unnecessary source of air and noise pollution. They are one of those gadgets originating from the mentality of the ‘60s and now deeply ingrained in our society without giving much thought to their environmental impact.
Oak Bay already has a good bylaw for idling cars. The next step should be a bylaw for leaf blowers, especially a ban on gasoline powered ones.
