Broom feeds bees
Recently, Joanne Sales wrote a letter to your paper bemoaning the fact that there aren’t any bees. She owns a farm and needs the bees to pollinate.
Her obsequious army invades the district with scythes, etc. to eradicate the multimillions of broom flowers that the bees need to survive.
My Encyclopedia Britannica states: the bright yellow flowers scatter their pollen by an explosive mechanism; the weight of a bee alighting on the flower causes the keel to split and the pollen to be shot out onto the insect’s body.
I was born in Vancouver and was always delighted when the harbinger of spring, the broom, appeared. I had two bushes in my yard which I kept trimmed but they were killed by J.S.’s group — there wasn’t a trace. I was angry.
