Grateful for good Samaritans

On Jan. 8, I had the misfortune of slipping on some ice and falling on my hip. This occurred on Westminster Avenue across from Foodland as I was trying to negotiate the crosswalk. I was in a great deal of pain and could not get to my feet.

All of a sudden as I lay there two ladies grabbed my arms and lifted me up. At the same time a vehicle stopped and the driver walked over to me and asked if I was OK and if I wanted to go to the hospital. I responded, saying I was OK but I had trouble walking. I told him that I only lived a block away. At that, he helped me over to his vehicle and drove me home.

If it wasn’t for those two ladies, I don’t know what I would have done. I don’t know who you are and hope you read this. I send you my heartfelt thanks and warmest gratitude. To the couple who drove me home, again a great vote of thanks and much appreciation. It’s people like you that make this city of Penticton the best place to live.

You will go unrewarded for your actions but you will be able to go home, look yourself in the mirror and say, “I did something good today.”
