No more from style-police

Re: Construction Complete (News, Jan. 16).

For the sake of my health, I implore you to stop publishing articles about Oak Bay’s self-appointed guardians of architectural design and taste: every time I read an article about these people, it makes my blood boil.

If they want to be able to tell people what to do, I suggest they move out of their detached homes and into strata developments, where they will be entitled to inject themselves into every facet of their neighbours’ lives.

I lived in a strata development, and will never live in anything other than a detached home for as long as I live.

I bought a detached home so I would not have to put up with individuals like them purporting to tell me what I can with my home, or how it should look.

Personally, I value the fact that if I want to paint my house screaming pink, I will, because I can.
