The end of large industry in Hammond?
Editor, The News:
Re: Hammond mill reaches out to neighbours (The News, Jan. 11).
Maple Ridge has been called a bedroom community. This means we sleep here and work elsewhere.
The Hammond mill site occupies many acres of industrial zoned land. The plant may not always be there.
If our council allows that parcel of land to be broken up, we will not have large industry in our community again.
Where else do we see waterfront acreage such as this?
Councillors, open your eyes and see the future.
