OUR VIEW: Wonder what’s out there?

All right folks, here’s a chance to share some of your favourite places and things in the Saanich Peninsula with the thousands of readers of the Peninsula News Review.

In May, the PNR will publish our list of the Seven Wonders of the Saanich Peninsula — and we think we’ve got a pretty good sampling of natural and man-made wonders.

These are places that we love seeing and enjoy visiting in Central and North Saanich and Sidney. Some of these places and things are something that many of us just couldn’t live without, as they bring constant joy and maybe even a little bit of  pride in our community.

Already, Butchart Gardens has been receiving a few votes from readers. The fabulous attraction — one of the Island’s best — will probably feature prominently among the Wonders.

We want to know what you think are the Peninsula’s most interesting attractions — not just for the hordes of tourists, but for the folks who live here year-round. Hidden gems, public spaces, favourite haunts.

There are probably more than seven such items on the Saanich Peninsula, but we’re going to start with that lucky number and round out what makes this place so great with ideas from our readers.

Email us at editor@peninsulanewsreview.com or visit our Facebook page — www.facebook.com/peninsulanewsreview — before May 11 and make your suggestions for our Seven Wonders special section next month. We plan to include your comments and suggestions alongside our own list of the Saanich Peninsula’s Seven Wonders. We want as many as possible to let people know just what we have to offer.

And you never know — we might come up with places and objects you never knew were out there.
